I've decided to try and utilize my rudimentary blogging "skills" to "improve" the old e-mail updates about Sycamore Softball that I used to send out. We'll see how it goes.
Since it is freezing cold outside, that means it is time for NCAA softball to get started. The MVC Pre-season prognostications should be out soon, and games will follow shortly after that.
The 2009 season ended after a run through the MVC Tournament that finished with a 5-4 loss to #1 seed Creighton in the Semi-finals. Gone are three All-Conference players (Katie Armour, Mere Simpson, and Darcy Wood), along with three other starters from that squad. A lot of new faces and young players will need to fill large roles for a successful season. As we lead up to the season, I'll try to give some previews on the players and the schedule. ISU opens the season in Memphis at the Blues City Classic hosted by the University of Memphis on February 19th and 20th. I plan to preview the opponents from what I can find and then give game updates once the tournament is under way.
